The Art of Arrival: Why Your Next Chapter Demands a Different Approach to Home

The Concept of Arrival
For years, our homes are asked to do heavy lifting. They act as landing pads for demanding careers, growing families, revolving schedules, and the inevitable temporary fixes we make just to keep things moving forward. I understand this reality from the inside out. Long before founding Resonance Interiors, I spent seventeen years managing luxury hotel logistics and revenue strategy, followed by nearly twelve years as a full-time stay-at-home dad. Life moves at a relentless pace, and our living environments often end up holding onto the visual clutter of a season we’ve already outgrown. But eventually, a subtle shift occurs. You look around and realize that while your life has entered a chapter of personal alignment, achievement, and quiet confidence, your home is still speaking the language of a previous phase.
This is what I call the moment of Arrival.
My own relationship with design started early, rearranging my childhood bedroom, saving my allowance at age twelve to buy Martha Stewart Living, and later renovating our San Francisco flat and our Sonoma redwood home. Over the years, through my formal studies at the Boston Architectural College and the Parsons Healthy Materials Lab, as well as recent collaborative work alongside beloved Boston firms like Dane Austin Design, one truth has remained absolute: when you reach this chapter, quick decorating trends and impulse buys completely lose their magic. You don't want a surface-level makeover or a space that feels staged or impersonal. You want a home that feels deeply anchored, restored, and genuinely reflective of who you are today, a space that hums with meaning rather than chasing whatever is currently trending.
Looking Beyond the Surface (Proportion, Flow, and Function)

When a room feels unsettled, our default reaction is often to start swapping out the decor. We buy new pillows, switch up the artwork, or hunt for a different coffee table. But over the years, from renovating our own spaces, to walking through clients' homes, I’ve learned that what seems like a decorating problem is almost always a structural or layout problem in disguise.
A room achieves true visual alignment when proportion, light, and circulation work in harmony. When we push oversized furniture against walls or scatter smaller, disconnected pieces across a space to make it feel bigger, we actually fragment the volume of the room. True luxury isn't about crowding a space with beauty; it's about the restraint of flow, creating an intuitive layout where you can move through your home effortlessly, feeling instantly supported by your environment.
The Substance of What You Touch

At its core, a home should support how your family lives every day. During my formal studies at the Boston Architectural College and my work with the Parsons Healthy Materials Lab, I began looking deeply at the unseen life of a room.
We spend so much of our time indoors, yet we rarely consider how the physical elements around us affect us on a human level. The air quality inside our rooms, the off-gassing of adhesives, and the tactile quality of the surfaces we touch every day directly influence our nervous system, our respiratory health, and so much more. Choosing honest, natural materials, such as sustainable solid woods, unrefined linens, organic stone, and non-toxic finishes, is far more than an aesthetic preference. It is a conscious wellness decision. When your home is built on material health, it becomes a space that actively restores and nourishes your family.
Collaborative Leadership and Process

Creating a home that truly reflects your next chapter should feel clear, inspiring, and supported from start to finish. Drawing from my seventeen years in luxury hospitality management, I bring a steady operational rhythm to every project. (And honestly, being a full-time stay-at-home dad for nearly twelve years prepared me for almost anything on a job site. I think that counts just as much.)
We don't begin with random swatches or reactive choices. We start with a clear process, structured decision calendars, and verified drawings that bring complete predictability to the build or renovation. I believe deeply in a collaborative approach. I bring my specifications and spatial vision to the conversation while partnering openly with custom builders, architects, and master artisans, allowing every expert on the team to bring their absolute best to your home.
Your home is the backdrop to your life's most meaningful moments. When you are ready to pour your energy into creating a space that truly reflects who you are today, we invite you to begin with shared intentions.
Warmly,
